The Knee Joint Sports Physiotherapy - Sunshine Coast Sports physiotherapists … and more!
As sports physiotherapists on the Susnhine Coast we diagnose and treat sports injuries. Sports Physiotherapy helps you to get better and advises you on how to avoid similar injuries in the future. Sports Physiotherapy examines, diagnoses and identifies the cause of your sports injury. Sports Physiotherapy then devises an individual physiotherapy treatment plan which usually includes manual physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of Sports specific training and rehabilitation.
Sports Physiotherapists are used to dealing with people who are in pain and frustrated as a result of their injuries and sports physiotherapists understand your frustration. All Physiotherapy members of our Sunshine Coast sports physiotherapy team have practical counselling skills, together with patience and tact!
At The Knee Joint Sports Physiotherapy our Sushine Coast Physiotherapy team has not only the relevant technical, physiotherapy and medical expertise but also (and we feel, just as importantly!):
- excellent physiotherapy communication skills
- the ability to explain clearly to patients how to carry out physiotherapy exercises
- good with our hands to carry out physiotherapy treatments
- motivational skills to encourage you to persevere with physiotherapy treatment and physiotherapy exercises to obtain the results you want

How we came to be …
Centre founder, Principal and Specialist Physiotherapist, Greg Craig, moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2007 in order to establish this multidisciplinary centre on the Sunshine Coast. With Physiotherapist Ian Collier, he had founded the first private multidisciplinary Sports Medicine and Sports Physiotherapy Centre in Sydney in 1983.
The first of its kind in Australia, the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy Centre (with Drs Merve Cross, Ken Crichton and Stuart Watson), was quickly followed in 1984 with the opening of the Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre Physiotherapy at the NSW Academy of Sport, Narrabeen.
In 1992 the NSOSMC was sold to enable Greg & Ian to concentrate on Sports Physiotherapy at the Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre and Sports Physiotherapy for International Rugby teams. Sadly, Ian died in 1997 and Greg has been striving to maintain his high Physiotherapy standards ever since. This has included the establishment of the Ian Collier Scholarship for Research into Physiotherapy.
After also working as an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist at the Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre Physiotherapy for 6 years, Kurt Lisle has moved to the Sunshine Coast to join Greg as his Principal Partner at The Knee Joint Sports Physiotherapy. Kurt is currently one of the Sport Physiotherapists for the Qantas Socceroos Football (Soccer) Team.
To the great benefit of the Sunshine Coast’s athletes, Greg and Kurt's dream of bringing a small piece of the Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre Physiotherapy to the Sunshine Coast has now been realised. |
